| There are four phases of coaching that one might need: |
Clarifying Ideas and Goals for the ProjectMost writers choose too large a project to complete in a reasonable amount of time and need assistance in making the scope and goals of the project achievable. It helps to know who you are writing to and how the work might be marketed before you begin. Writing an unmarketable piece to an unknown audience will ensure an unpublished manuscript. |
 |
Space and Support Writers often need a specific type of space, instrument and support system in which to create. Exploring your needs for space and support is the second step of the coaching process. You wouldn't be expected to work as a software engineer inside a gymnasium filled with screaming fans. Don't expect to be able to write at the kitchen table with family distractions. |

Breaking Through ResistanceResistance is otherwise known as "writer's block". There are a number of techniques, habits and routines unique to each author that end writer's block. In this phase of coaching, you will discover what works for you to break through resistance. |
| Submitting your work for publication can be daunting. Do you need an agent? How do you get started? What does this contract mean? Where do you submit small pieces for publication? These are just a few of the questions that you may not be able to answer. This service explains the various publishing options and how they benefit or detract from your personal goals and your project. |
