  About Krista BurlaeWriting Consultant and Writing Coach

Krista has taught college writing, sociology and psychology. A former social worker, her approach is to identify the unique patterns of writing for a particular author and assist in enhancing and continuing those patterns within the writing process to create a piece of art. She holds a Bachelor's in English from Indiana University, a Master's in Sociology from Central Michigan University and a Master's in Social Work from the University of Michigan.

Editing

Non-Fiction Books:   Odyssey of  Partisan.  An historical memoir of WWII partisan activities. Publication scheduled for 2008.

Visions of Lincoln:  Lincoln’s Capital City in the Present, Past  and Future.  A coffee table book published December, 2007.

Authorship

Love Apples in Winter:  An essay accepted for an anthology.  Publication pending.

The Case Against Suicide placed as a finalist in the John C. Gardner Two Minute Play Contest at Wilkes University, May, 2007.

Midwifery (short story) placed #5 in the 6th Annual Writer’s Digest Short Short Story Contest as noted in June, 2006 hardcopy of Writer’s Digest.

The Theory of Mindful Space: Identifying, Understanding and Preventing Violence. Affilia: Journal of Women and Social Work, Spring 2004, pg. 85. Article from a book of the same title is regarding violence prevention and has received international attention.

Coaches both the creative writer and the academic writer.
